How do you fall in love? Can you move past infatuation withdrawal and still fall in love?

I've been debating this issue with friends for some time and now it's time to get some other perspectives. How does love happen for all of you out there? Do you fall in love right away? Does it develop over time? Do you put a limit on how long you'll search your heart to find if you love someone (ie. If I don't feel in love within the first 2 months I won't fall in love.)? Do you feel infatuated at first and then fall in love? Can one move past the infatuation withdrawal and still fall in love?
