When is it reasonable to expect a commitment?

I've started dating again after going through a divorce last year. A couple of months ago, I met a great guy (also divorced). I'm not interested in dating anyone else, but my guy's profiles are still active on some dating sites, so I know that he's keeping his options open for now.

We've talked about relationships and I know that he is taking his search for his future partner very seriously (we are both in our 30s, want kids, want to remarry one day, etc). I feel like we have a lot of potential and am willing to give him some time to decide whether he wants to become exclusive. How long should two people date before it is reasonable to ask for or expect a commitment (exclusivity)?
