Is he just keeping me happy on purpose to hide something, when is too good too good?

My boyfriend/partner is very good to me. We have been together for 4 years and have a 22month old boy. He is very good to me especially since we've had a son... even before our son he would spoil me bring me flowers for no reason buy me random things and do anything to please me even though i tell him its too much. Sometimes i figured it was to make him look good or show he had money.. I mean we have had our issues...Anyhow now and then i wonder is he purposly being too good to hide something? did he bring those flowers all those times before because he was guilty about something? or am i just being paranoid and consider myself lucky..
