Take A Break Turns Into Break Up

"I have been seeing this girl for about 2 months. Things weren't always easy, mostly because we are somewhat different people and I have not been in a relationship in years before this one.

But our issues got resolved maturely, and everytime we came out better and more aware of ourselves. We were growing together and it felt like a mature relationship.

Then unfortunate news: her ex was stalking her ever since he saw us at a Halloween party together when he approached her and threatened to beat me up. But why, after a year and a half? I asked, and found out that she was still talking to this guy as recently as 2 weeks ago, even while we were going out! She wasn't to blame, but she wasn't a victim.

So after incidents with this guy continued to occur, I told her I wanted to take a break until the issue with her ex was resolved. He had been following her, and who knows how serious this guy was about hurting me.

As soon as I said this, she stormed out, stopped taking my calls or answering my text messages, and removed me from her profile picture online.

Did I dodge two bullets on this one...one from the ex and the other from this roller coaster of a woman?"
