"We got the house without the debt being paid off. The collection call was due to a payment program I was on that had ended and I was not aware the minimum payment had gone back up because they declined to send me notice. We aren't going to be struggling with the payment each month. I can pay over the minimum payment, I just wanted a lower interest rate, so I asked for a payment program.


Babe, I just don't want to take the money you worked hard for before this marriage away from you. Just as much as I don't want you to have to pay for my idiotic choices.

"My husband had about $4000 in credit card debt before we were married. I was aware of this and always tried to help out. We were both laid off a few months before our marriage, but I had plenty of money in savings to cover necessities and to help him out with his bills.
