"Afghanistan Money And Trucks!"

"First, I would like to say that this is oh so gay and I can't believe Jen is doing this just so that someone may finally tell her she is right. As if I don't have enough stuff to worry about with my upcoming deployment to afghanistan, now I have to take time out of my day to post my side of a story that shouldn't have been aired out in the first place. We have talked about this issue, yes. But what she failed to mention in her side was that I told her we would wait and see how much money I had saved upon my return from afghanistan before I made any decisions on what I buy with my hard earned money.
The truck that I want is not going to cost between 30,000 - 40,000 dollars plus 8,000 - 10,000 dollars in add ons. The truck that I want to get should be somewhere around 15, 000 - 20,000 dollars plus whatever I feel I can afford in add ons, but I plan to pay cash for the add ons and only 10,000 in cash for the truck and then get a loan for the rest. Upon my return, I will receive more than 1,000 dollars per month from my G.I. Bill while attending college. I will pay on the loan with some of the money that I receive from that. She also failed to mention that my father and I run an excavating business (on the side of my other two jobs) and need diesel trucks to tow our skid loaders. Any add ons I do to the truck will be for my own personal enjoyment. Yes, I would like to do some stuff to my motorcycle as well. But if I can't afford it, it won't happen.
Again, I would like to state that "no decisions on my personal purchases will be made until I can assess how much money I have saved up when I return. Any bills or necessities that need to be taken care of first, will be". This is all stuff that we have talked about and I have flat out told her, but was neglected in her side of the story.
As for saving money for our child's college and getting a house, we both plan to get our master's degrees or beyond which will most likely require us to move. Why make such a large investment like buying a home when we will only live in it for a year or two? I could always re-enlist in the military for a 15,000 dollar bonus. Besides, it will be at least 6 more years before we can finally settle down in a permanent place anyway. In regards to our "unborn" child's college...lets face it....it's still 18 years away at least.
