Work And The Jerk

We've been living together for the past year and a half and my boyfriend lost his job in July of last year. He's been collecting unemployment but he's about to run out. The thing is I work full time and I know when I get home and he's fooling around on facebook or playing games he didn't do a damn thing all day. He doesn't take any initiative and it's really upsetting me. He tells me he's doing all he can. But I checked out some of the places he said he applied to try and be a reference and they said they have no record of him ever sending a resume.

If we have a serious future, how can I trust him when he doesn't even try to help us? He made me feel like an idiot by lying and I don't know who's the bigger jerk.
