Impossibly Long Distance Relationship

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year now from two different cities. It's not an easy drive either. He lives in NYC. I live in San Francisco. We both work for the same company and met at a conference. He has the opportunity to transfer to the west coast and work in my division. It's above me and it's a salary increase for him but he isn't doing it!

I am frustrated over it. I think a year is plenty long to eventually start to bring it closer together for us. He doesn't want to move because he says he doesn't like it here. I don't have the opportunity to move to NYC or I would in a heartbeat. He is lax about it and it's killing me.

In my shoes, should I be getting worried? Wouldn't you? I just think he is not considering a commitment.
