"Last Dance"

"So I attend my girlfriend's holiday party this past weekend. This is her last hurrah with her co-workers because she started a new job today, so when she lets me know she is going over to talk to some co-workers. I say sure no problem. Well then, she ends up on the dance floor with them. Again no big deal. But it was the second to last song. So as soon as that last song was over, the last dance started. It was "Last Dance". I was gonna go dance with her, but some male co-worker of hers just grabbed her and started dancing. Being that I was respecting her space at her company party, I decided not to butt in. But the whole time she was dancing, she was looking at me. I contend she should have politely excused herself from dancing with that co-worker and came to get me, rather than making me look like an a$$hole and cut in. It's her company, and being that I hardly know anyone, she is the one that is supposed to make me feel comfortable, not the other way around. This wasn't a random club where some dude was hitting up on my girl. What do you think?
