how to handle my husband asking for or taking my pain pills

i have had back surgery and due for another surgery, my husband also has had 2 back surgeries. i feel uncomfortable sometimes but do not always take the pain pills, My husband will get into my pills and without asking so i hide them and he will find them, now i have hidden them really well. I understand he may experience some pain after his back problems but my concern is he is a recovering meth addict who has been clean for 6 years. and when my pills are missing without him asking i get very pissed
