Financial Advice from a friend?

My very good friend has previously given me her financial advice re. certain issues I have the problem is I don't take her advice simply because her own personal finances are not a reflection of her lifestyle, when I try to question her re. her situations she simply says we are not talking about me. She tends to want to leave herself out of the scenario and stay on the topic at hand. I have a relative that has given me advice as well the difference is her lifestyle is representative of how she has applied herself through life to achieve financial stability, I think that if you are going to give anyone advice then you should be a reflection of that or say I have made some mistakes but I suggest you do etc. I want to tell her certain conversations she should maybe not suggest advice unless asked but I think her feelings will be hurt. Plz advise
