Does someone love you honestly if they leave the hospital when you have surgery. (masectomy)

Diagnosed with cancer 2008 a week later had a scheduled radical masectomy. My husband and family were at the hospital for support, but when they took me in for surgery he left to go have breakfast and said to buy me flowers and a card since he knew how sentimental I am. You know they sell flowers at the hospital and talking to him about it got nowhere. I guess I was looking for emotional support and alot more in this situation. Did I over react.
