Should my husband be friends with an ex-girlfriend when it's business related?

We,ve been married for 5 years...My husband talks on e-mail and facebook to an ex-girlfriend about new recruits for his team. He is a coach and she is a coach at a lower level at a school that is several hours away. He says They only talk about coaching stuff, and about players that might be interested in going to his college and playing on his team. I trust my husband, but I'm not sure I trust her. I've told my husband I don't like it, but he says he only talks to her about recruiting players. He also friended her mother on facebook. I'm not sure what to think?
