Should I completely remove my spouse from access to checking and savings account if she constantly gambles?

I work outside the home and wife stays at home to raise adopted child. I never looked at accounts as it was her responsibility and to confusing with two people regulating funds. I began noticing bills being missed and not paid. Questioned her and got different answers. Took over account and found she had gambled thousands of dollars many times over a year period. Lied about where she was going and went to casino. Since I took it over she did it again.

Question - will I be wrong in removing her completely from the account to protect the family money. She can have her own and get out and earn some money.
