What should I do I am just a little confuse?

I am good friends with my friends but recently I was running for position of an organization that I been a member of for the past 2 years. I lost to my friend who been a member for only a month due to the fact he is more popular to me. Now that I am working under him he is not using me as a valuable resource and just plain ignoring me. I do have a chance to cause him to loss his position but he is my friend and I just cant do that. I talked to him to be more open with me but he is failing to do that.
