It's taken six years for my boyfriend to give me a ring and now he won't let me announce it in the paper.

I have been dating my boyfriend for six years, and he finally gave me a ring on Valentine's Day this year. We have a 5-year-old beautiful boy who is very close to both of us; however is torn at times because my fiance and I don't live together. I told him I would like to announce our engagement and he said no, and that he didn't want to be pressured. I am
furious and hurt. The ring means nothing to me now, and I don't know what to do. It's totally ridiculous. I have waited this long to get engaged and am not waiting another six years to get married. I need some serious advice.
