Is he interested or not?

I asked a shy guy out to see a band and he seemed very keen and explained how during the day he had to pick up a friend from the airport who was going to be staying with him so he would text me when he knew when he could meet up with me before the show. His texts definitely seemed very keen, but then he had to cancel on me the day of the show because of his friend/guest. I understand that close friends are higher priority and he was in an awkward situation, but yeah I understand bros before hoes when you barely know me. He had a legitimate reason for bailing and apologised profusely.

Even thought he cancelled, if he went to such effort to say yes to the date even tho he was really busy, he must be interested right?
