Husband's business travel offer...what's the best approach?

Hi everyone,

My husband has been given the option to travel to NJ for work, where he would probably be staying for a month. He does not generally have to travel for work at all, and I don't want him to go...but I don't want to be a bitch about it, either.

Side note: I DO travel a bit for business (but only for a couple of days at a time), so I understand that business travel is 1) exhausting, and 2) boring, so it's not that I think he's going to be living it up in Jersey while he's gone. I also lived in Jersey for 10 years, so I know that it's not that glamorous...

Here's why I don't want him to go:

1. I love him. I like to have him around. We're newlyweds.

2. I don't want to be alone in my house for a month.

3. Business travel sucks, and there is NO extra money involved/advancement potential that will come as a result of this. If either of these "benefits" were the case, it would be a different story. As someone who does travel, I don't think it's worth it.

4. We are trying to have a baby. Obviously, he needs to be here if that's going to happen.

5. A month is a REALLY long time. If it was a week...no problem. But a MONTH?

My husband has asked me for my opinion and I know that he will listen to me...but here's the problem: If I tell him not to go, I'm afraid that I'll seem like a bitch or like I'm unsupportive.

What is the best way to approach this?

Thanks!
