Would you let your 15 year old spend the night at a Marriott for a sweet 16 party?
I am 15 years old and I was invited to my friend's sweet 16 party. I am also soon to be 16. It is at a Marriott that is exactly 27 minutes from my house and the mom and dad of my friend will stay with us the whole time. The party starts at 1 pm and ends the next morning after breakfast. My mom has contcted her mom and all sounds well but my parents say their "intuition" says not to let me go. I am almost 16 years old, never done anything extremely bad like most highschoolers do and they have always trusted me so I am at a loss. They say they are afraid of what "freak" accidents could happen but that can happen anywhere. I am responsible and things can happen anywhere. Shouldn't a person of my age and standards be able to go to this party?
