Birthday present dilemma...

Nick (not his real name) and I have been dating for a few months now, quite seriously even though we live over 500 miles away from each other. Nick's birthday is coming up SOON and he is flying in to see me on his birthday (YAY!). SO I ask him what he wants for his birthday. He says, "Nothing." I say, "No, seriously, any suggestions?" He says he really doesn't want anything. We are both in our 30's so I understand that birthdays have kinda lost their appeal, but shouldn't I get him SOMETHING?? I mean, after I asked him repeatedly, almost badgering him, he said he wants a bag of gummie bears and nothing more (no, that isn't slang for anything kinky...) What should I do? Bag of gummie bears? Something more? I WANT to do more, but I don't him to get upset with me...
