How do I accept that someone might find me interesting enough to date?

I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive or if it's actually happening, but I seem to be hitting a lot of guys' radars these days. It's kind of disturbing - I'm 17 and have absolutely NO first-hand experience with dating of guys(outside of friendships). I don't know how to handle it, and I'm afraid I may have hurt a few people over the last 6 months.

My main problem is this: I don't understand why anyone would find me attractive in any way. I'm not exaclty something to look at, I'm shy and I tend to blend into the background really easily. Or at least, that's my opinion of myself. Because I don't understand the attraction, I tend to dismiss it and/or ignore it. I think there have been a few people that have seen this and thought me indifferent.

I don't know if I'm insecure, because I believe certain things and don't stray from them easily; you have to provide me with fairly solid evidence before I will change my point of view or commit to any one point of view on anything. It is certainly possible, though, that I undervalue myself. I don't know.

What I know is that my opinion of myself and others' opinions of me never seem to match up. How do I accept that someone might see me better than I see myself?
