Who is right? Should I be frustrated?

I have been dating the same person for 7 years. We both love music and enjoy going to concerts. Twice now I have planned and invited him to a concert of a musician we both love...once for his birthday and other times just to go. Three times now he has chosen to go with his "best friend" instead of me. Am I overreacting to his chosing a buddy over me? Once I'd like him to stand up and chose me.
