Am I wrong for leaving after 6 years?

I resigned this morning from my job, after accusations were being brought up against me and then my boss told me to fess up. Why should I admit to something I have not done?
Now the CEo of the company is upset that I left, stating, "I am like her daughter" but I don't want to go back to the job.
This accusation is a serious matter, big enough for me to contact my attorney.
The company is about to be audited tomorrow and I feel bad that I won't be there. However I am no longer willing to work in an environment that is hostile. I don't know if I am making the right choice :(
