My ex says that I lack emotions

We've been in this realtionship for a couple of years now and it seems like everytime we get into disagreements, he always says that I lack emotions because I don't like to argue and when he leaves I never call. I just let him go. We separated for awhile and during our seperation I didn't call one time or even go to chase him and he says... I don't care, I love him dearly Its just that I feel like I shouldn't chase you down if I didn't make you leave. Especially if your doing things on your own to leave. So i tell him, he doesn't have to pick arguements to levae just be gone. And when I do that he says "I don't care, and that I act like "MEN" do, I don't understand.......
