Upset Over Dancing. . .

Side 2
Side 1 says... Me and my boyfriend went to my cousins wedding over the weekend and he is upset with me because I was dancing with another guy.
I love to dance and wanted to have a good time at the wedding. I would've preferred to dance with him but when I asked him he said no. There was Spanish music playing and I know he doesn't like to dance to that so I didn't push him on dancing with me.
I eventually went off to dance with my sisters and friends. When I get back to our table he seemed annoyed and I asked him what was wrong, he just replied by saying nothing was wrong and went off to get a drink.
While he was away, a song came on and my childhood friend (the guy) came over and asked if I remembered dancing to this song when we were younger, and that led him to asking me to dance which I agreed to.
When the song was over I went back to my boyfriend and he was incredibly upset over me dancing with my friend. He was getting rather loud so we took it outside so we wouldn't disturb the wedding. When we got outside he just went off on me for making him look like a idiot in front of my family by dancing with that guy. He then left me at my cousins wedding feeling very confused and hurt.
I honestly did not believe that dancing with my friend would get him so mad. We have been dating for almost two years now and we have had a pretty good trusting relationship so far. The next day all he says about the incident was that what I did was wrong and I should have known better.
Was I really in the wrong?

Side 2 says... I'll admit that I wasn't too happy to go to the wedding in the first place. I don't get along all that well with her family and I know that they don't like me either, mainly because I'm a white guy and they want her to date a latino, specifically the guy she was dancing with. At the wedding I was feeling rather uncomfortable at the thought of going to dance so I told her I didn't want to. Of course I also said she could dance if she wanted too.

Later on I saw her dancing with that guy looking a little too cozy with each other and her family near my table yapping about how perfect they would be together and how it was only a matter of time. That really pissed me off.

I do love her and I do trust her, it's just that she knows what everyone says about her and her friend, and that I know about it. I felt like she was trying to make me jealous and that's why I was upset.
