Boyfriend Stayed Out All Night

Side 1 says...
My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years and have been living together for about 2. He's gotten into some trouble in the past with some of his friends and has since "turned a new leaf"
Wednesday night I told him I was going to bed because I had a meeting the next morning that was going to require me to get up a little earlier. He was drinking beer and watching sports so he said he would be in later. Typically when my boyfriend works (this night he was off) at 3:30 am - 11:30 am I turn my phone volume up in case of an emergency. But when he is home, him and I both know that my phone stays on silent.
The next morning I wake up alone and to my dog pawing at me. My boyfriend was not in bed and was not in the living room. When I checked my phone there was 3 texts from him.
"Tomorrow wake me up and I will clean your car" 10:15 pm
"And anything else that needs to be done" 10:21 pm
"Steve just called, I'm going to hang out with him and some friends at James. 11:00 pm.

I wanted to go out with some friends I haven't seen in a while. My girlfriend was sleeping and I didn't want to wake her so I texted her. I figured I would be home before she woke up. I meant to tell her we were going to Jakes, which is a bar, but autocorrect made it James. I didn't want to tell her I had been drinking because I have done some bad things in the past that involved drinking and it had hurt myself and others around me, including her.
I meant to come home that night, but fell asleep at my friends house and when I woke up, I ignored her calls and texts and came home. I could tell she was very upset so I went to bed so she could cool off. She came home from work early and still looked mad so I didn't say anything.
I don't see the big deal because I told her I was going out so she could see it, I didn't get into any trouble and I made it home ok. I don't think she should be as mad as she is.
I honestly said it was over because she wouldn't stop breathing down my neck but I didn't mean it. I just don't think she should be as upset as she is
