Is it ok for my fiance to have close girlfriends he hangs out with alone?

We have been dating 3 years and got engaged this summer. He has always had a lot of girlfriends. We are living 1 hour apart right now and he has a new female friend he goes golfing with once per week and out for beers with about once per week. I have not minded him hanging out with female friends in the past because they were friends before him and I got together. Should he be allowed to make new female friends and hang out with them alone now that we are engaged?
