My friend purposely embarrassed me in front of an older guy I liked. Should I be mad at my friend her or not?

This one guy I played spin the bottle with over the summer was at the same football game as me. I like him, but I didn't want him to think I was making a big deal out of what happened over the summer, so I kept my distance. I brought him to my friends attention and she said I should go up to him and say hi. He with all his friends, and I didn't want to bother him, I'm not even really friends with him.
