Should I pay for a certification or continue to get my degree?

As we know the economy is bad. My current job sold the subsidiary that I and a coworker do the accounting for. Our supervisor decided to layoff another coworker and divide her work among us, but by my math we're still 1 over. I have approx 11 classes left for my degree. I cannot afford to take more than 1 at a time. $750/two month class. I almost have enough saved for another class but with this turn of events at work, I am wondering if it would be best for me to get a certification in an accounting software to become more marketable to other employers. A quickbooks proadvisor certification is @$450 for a yr membership with a possible 4-5 certifications. Which should I choose?? I would continue my degree afterward, but is this detour worth it??
