Is it right for a man to tell a woman what time she should be home?

I went out with my girlfriend 2 weeks ago, we had lunch, and later that eve we went to a club. I enjoy socializing and dancing, which I go out on occasion not every weekend. My boyfriend told me that he doesn't think it' right for me to stay out until 3am. The clubs close at 2am, plus I'm a grown woman who's 48 yrs young, and I'm not out looking for a man, just out having a good time with the girls. He's 38, and to me that's so insecure. He constantly complains about this issue..And personally it's frustrating and something I can do with out.
