Is it important for a spouse to say they are sorry?

I think it is important for people to be accountable for their behavior and actions. Saying I am sorry represents your sense of accountability. I say I am sorry for to my husband for many things.....when I am later than I said I would be, when I feel overwhelmed and can't keep the house clean, when I know he is upset with me about something I've done. I think it is important to apologize. My husband DOES NOT SAY HE IS SORRY FOR ANYTHING. Just yesterday I realized a blanket I loaned him for a football game was not returned, he lost it! He never apologized and I was very disappointed. What are your thoughts?
