Is it wrong to ask my boyfriend to get a vasectomy?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a while. We have both agreed that we do not want children. I have tried everythings, the pill, patch, the ring. IUDs, and they all cause various undesired side effects. Is it too much to ask my boyfriend to get a vasectomy? A hysterctomy is way more invasive, dangerous, and expensive. I haven't asked him yet.
