Do rebounds ever work out?

After my wife left me for another man, I was devastated. I soon met someone who has been really great for me. Unfortunately I just don't love her the way she loves me. I feel affectionate towards her. To make it worse: my family doesn't approve at all. Do you think this numb feeling will pass if I stay with her?
