How important are looks?

As I re-enter the dating scene, I have found myself to be picky. I don't do it on purpose, but I realize that I am not attracted to everyone -- and sometimes I feel kind of bad about it. The thing is, is I don't feel like I should have to settle for someone. It is important to know that I do give personalities an honest shot, but if I don't feel attracted physically.. it is almost doomed. Does this make me a jerk?
