Couples dinner group or a girls night?

My gal pals and I don't get to see each other often. So, we decided we should get together every couple of months. Now that we are all married we'd like to do a couples dinner/ activity group, but my husband thinks it should just become a girls night? We live up to two hours apart. So, it's kind of an ordeal to get together. Our husbands don't have a ton in common, but they all talk and get a long well enough. Am I asking too much out of my husband?
