Should I continue dating him if nothing changes in a month?

I've been dating a guy for a little over 3 months now. Everything moved very fast. I'm a single mom and he's a single dad. The first two and half months were incredible for both of us. Then all of a sudden he said we needed to talk. Basically, it comes down to he hates his job and feels like he's not meeting his goals in life. We only see each other on the weekend, but he feels I'm a distraction. We decided to take a month break so, he can work on his goals for a new career. Then we're suppose to pick up from there. I asked him if he "really thinks a month is going to make a difference" and he said, "absolutely, I think a lot can change in a month". I've done a lot of dating and finally found a man I could see spending the rest of my life with, so I don't want to give up so easy.
