teeth picking in public what do you think about it?

every time we go out to eat my husband must pick his teeth with a toothpick in public . even if we ate soup . it is a very disgusting habit and i have told him not to do it when he is with me,but he can't help it.i had it! i even thought about picking up a very annoying habit myself just to irritate him.
