Should I go to Passover dinner to appease my mother?
So in the past two weeks, both of my sisters have asked me (separately) if I'm "going home for Passover." I now find out that they're taking the six-hour trip home together.
I haven't considered myself a religious person (in fact, I believe I'm anti-religious) in a long time, but I'm afraid of hurting my mother. I'm 26, so I've made this decision as an adult. I also don't want to take the time off work, but I could do it if I had to. I've had excuses in the past for not being able to make it to various Jewish holidays/gatherings. Should I continue making excuses to save my mother the hurt, or should I just come clean?
