Is it unreasonable to ask my man to talk with me before ok ing his daughter having friends over when visiting?

My honey and I have argued over whether or not he should come to me when his daughter asks if a friend can come over when she and her brother are coming over for their scheduled visits. I think that it is common courtesy to talk to your partner about things like that incase there is an off chance it isn't going to work for the other person. Or if for no other reason but that it encourages the children to see that we are a couple and a united front. He thinks he is "asking my permission" and I don't see it that way. HELP
