Is he a loser or should I wait on him?

Ok, so I was in this relationship with this guy for three years and we were engaged. We also almost had a baby together but I had a miscarriage. He broke up with me 6 months later because he said I need to find out who I am and then contact him in three years. I don't think he wants someone else, and he said he doubts he will date anyone until then, so should I wait for him or forget about him?

Please help.
