How do you tell a guy friend you dont want to date them?

See I have this guy friend and we have been friends for about two years. He is really nice and good looking but i dont see him as a boyfriend. He has a lot of drama in his life and i dont want to be apaart of that. I just dont know how to tell him. I dont want to hurt his feelings either but some times i get caught up in the moment but i have to keep on teeling myself that it is not going to work so i end up geting mad at him.
