Does age really matter in a relationship???

I have feelings or someone who is two years younger to me... Im waiting to understand if I really Love him or its just another passing thing before we actually start dating ...We get along great and He's one of the nicest guy I have come across in a long long time... and he seems to really like me...and he's ok with me taking time to decide...Don't want to hurt him in the end or end up losing him...
