How to get back into dating?

I am a mature women widowed a few years ago,I was married almost 40 yrs. One grown son 2 grand-daughters, I did not work outside the home during the time I was
married as we had our own business which my son now runs,I was working intil last year but with economy taking the turn it did,& my age ,I lost job when new owner took
over,I am now on unemployment & have small widows pension but I do miss the companionship of other that I had when I was working,would welcome any constructive advice
