How can I get girls to get closer to me?

I'm a really good looking guy, intelligent, and with a very interesting life.

The problem is that I always end up looking for the wrong girl. Or a girl I have not interest asks me out, or the girls I like don't want to date me, either because they like someone better, or because they are already taken (though they like me).
Even more, girls tend to feel like I'm "too perfect", that I'm not real. They just don't dare to get close, they want to look at me but are too shy to go further.
Everyone keeps saying that's unbelievable that I'm single, because for how I'm I should be too busy dating or already married.
What can I do?
I'm 24, 6'1".

I'm looking to date girls to get to know them and have fun, but I'm open to serious relationships, even to marriage.
