Husband wants me to quit... cant get up the nerve?

My husband and I wanted me to stop drinking. I can't get up the nerve to see a counselor. We have been married for 5 yrs and it's causing problems with school and life.

I am going into my final year of dental school and I have a substance abuse problem (alcohol). I would have 6-8 drinks per night on average and nearly was held back because of sleeping through clinic the following morning when I didn't have a patient. My husband, doctor (bc of hypertension - I'm not overweight and only 30 years old) and mother who doesnt live near me and didn't know of the academic problems convinced me to quit for other reasons. I stopped drinking and am craving like crazy. My MD prescribed me Naltrexone and it helps, but only to a degree.

I think I need to find a way to deal with cravings without giving into them (only gave in once for 2 days in the past 46 days). My MD and friend suggested I see a substance abuse counselor, but I can't bring myself to ask for help and go in there. I find it humiliating. Can someone give me some tips or advice and how to get up the nerve or if it's a waste of time? Thank you.
