What to do when we hardly see each other anymore?
My boyfriend of 10 months got a new job. At first it was great and he had the same hours as his old one. Now his boss is requiring everyone to work 12 hours a day, EVERY DAY!, for who knows how long. There is even a second shift who comes in to work the second 12 hours.
I just need advice on how to deal with this. I feel like I'm losing a big part of my life because sometimes he doesn't get back to his place until 9 or 10 at night., and I have to wake up at 5:30 for work so we don't have that essential quality time anymore. Before it wouldn't bother me if we didn't see each other every day, because when we did spend time together it was for a whole evening after work or the whole weekend. But now It bothers me on days when he is too tired to come over or he goes right to bed.
The other thing is that he has joint custody of his kids, so every other weekend he goes to a nearby city to spend time with them. Sometimes I go and spend time there too, but now with him working weekends our time is cut even shorter. I can't imagine he would want to work on the weekends he has his kids, until recently it was just a half day on Saturday working, but now it's both days.
I know he doesn't like this new schedule, and it isn't his fault, but I need to know how to go from seeing my favorite person every day and being able to have that quality time, to only seeing him a few days a week where the majority of our time together is spent sleeping. I want to support him, but I feel so sad and I just miss my best friend.
