Who do I choose? My family or my job?

I am in a job that restricts me seeing my children's father. He got in trouble with the law while we were separated. I have tried for eleven months to get over him but I cant. I love him and he loves me. We want to give the kids their family back but I could lose my job. I have another profession so that wouldnt be such a problem but I am scared to make the move..
