Why does she need to talk to her ex daily?

My wife talks to her ex-husband which is fine since they share custody of her kids but he only sees them every other weekend. Should I be concerned they are talking more than just a few days before the exchange? I don't like him but we don't ever see each other. I just saw the phone bill and saw his number everyday. Worries me.
