should i date a kid 2 years younger than me?

ok so im a junior in high school and i really like this freshman..ahah. He also really likes me and we talk all the time and hang out when ever we can. would it be weird if i started dating him? i dont want people to think that im desperate or anything cuz i could get guys older and i have. but their is just like this special feeling that i have when im with this boy.
