Who should clean the kitchen during the week? (I have been cleaning the kitchen on the weekends)

My husband and I have 2 children (2 yr old son, 1 yr old daughter). I work 8-5 Mon-Fri, while he is at home with the kids. I wash 8-10 loads of laundry each weekend, scrub the bathroom 1-2 times a week, and sweep/mop the floors in the house 1-2 times a week. If that isn't enough work, He feels that I should help with the dishes/kitchen more, so he leaves a huge mess for me to enjoy when I come home in the evening. If I spend my whole evening cleaning up messes, then I do not get to rest, or even enjoy time with my kids.
